Direct Flight From Baku To Maldives
Azerbaijan Airlines have announced that they are set to launch direct flight from Baku to Maldives on 8 November 2024. The airline did not officially reveal which model of aircraft they will use, but a popular local website states it will be Boeing 787 and ticket price is set to US$ 633 for return fare. Once commenced this will be the airline’s first flight to the Maldives.
We do not recall of any direct flight from Baku to Male’ in the recent years. It may very well be possible that this will the first ever direct link between two countries. Maldives is among the top tourist destinations for tropical beach holidays and inbound tourism enumerates to roughly 90% of foreign currency generation. Baku return tickets being priced at $633 is a significant increase of budget for holidaymakers, but there may be reasons to justify the price difference of $233.
Azerbaijan offers to mountain peaks and valleys. The Maldives is a humid country all year round and people may want to experience cold climate. Azerbaijan being a Muslim country the Maldivians will not have problems in finding Halal food. Fresh meat delicacies may also be attractive Maldives imports almost all meat and other food products which are usually frozen or chilled. Early predictions look promising for out bound tourism while the inbound route may be the likely target set by the airline, at least for the time being.
