This free diver seems really crazy. If not, do you think he would jump in a school of massive stingrays? They look hungry and just waiting for the pontoon to give them some food. Then this diver jumps in and amazingly the stingrays go to him and enjoy swimming just over this body. The diver is not scared at all, he enjoys the great show.

I do not know the exact location this video was shot, but it is definitely Maldives. Feeding strays is quite common at Maldives resorts. In some resorts they just throw the food in water and stingrays take their meal. In most of the resorts they feed by hand, the stingrays come near beach and pontoon feeds them at shore. Some resorts even allow guests to feed them. Stingrays are actually deadly creature, there is a sting on the tail as you can see on this video. If there comes a threat it would pierce your body with this sting and most of the time it would attack critical organs. But, these creatures are awesome when they are friendly. It’s just that they use their weapon for self defence, they don’t go after you to harm you.
When I see this kind of videos I think of the famous Australian Steve Irwin who died of stingray attack at Great Barrier Reef. He was swimming with a large stingray and his colleague was filming it for National Geographic. We don’t know what happened but suddenly he got stung into the chest and when he was brought to surface he was too badly injured. He couldn’t make it and passed away. Accordingly to his family, he died while doing what he loved most, being close not only to stingrays but any kind of animal. He loved animals so much and the way he interacted with animals was amazing. He made lot of fans from around the world, like me. I admire his devotion to the fascinating world of wildlife.
