Maldives resorts should stop serving cancer in cans

The World Health Organisation has recently said processed meat (such as bacon, sausage, luncheon) causes cancer. I have long been talking about this on social media and different forums. But then it was solely based on belief and logic. These days cancer is so common in developed western countries. Developing countries that rely on farming and natural foods do not have this problem. So, I believed processed food, not only meat, had a role to pay in causing cancer.

In addition to processed meat genetically modified food, more commonly known as GMO, may also cause cancer. Again, this belief is not based on research but common sense. Nature produces what is good for our bodies. If you artificially modify genetics of products I would take it as an unwanted risk right away.

WHO having revealed cancer risks in processed meat, I think its time to call Maldives tourism industry to stop serving cancer (processed meat) to guests all together. People are used to bacon, sausages and other products. But, when it is proven bad for health I think it is time to give up. Health conscious guests may be a good market to focus and this is the right time for that. Maldives is blessed with incredible beauty of nature. Taking advantage of moving for natural foods is important as protecting the natural reefs and beaches.
